As an Assamese we mean those Muslims that speaks Assamese. We have two sects here in Assam - The Khalifas and the Sheikhs or Mohammaden. Majority Khalifa live in upper Assam. The Khalifa is like the captain. After Mohamad In hajo there is the Majar of Giasuddin Aulia. 

Now some of them are definitely converted Muslims. 

They must realize the fact that degrees are actually a type of rule framed by the government for smooth functioning.
